How it works

Precision
over intensity.

Springs set the resistance and a gliding carriage moves with you, so each repetition is controlled from start to finish. You can work hard without the impact of jumping, running or heavy loading.

Sessions work the whole body, with a steady focus on the deep core muscles that support your spine and hips. Joints move through smooth, supported ranges, and the resistance is matched to you rather than to the room.

Alignment and posture

Undo
the desk.

Long hours seated, and the same few movements repeated all week, leave their mark on how you stand and move.

Reformer work gives you time to pay attention to that: how you hold your ribs and pelvis, which side does more of the work, and where your range runs out. Galina watches your form through the session and adjusts the setup as you go.

If you are recovering from an injury or managing a condition, speak with your treating practitioner, and tell Galina before your first session.

The long view

Future-proof your body.
Calm your mind.

Pilates rewards turning up regularly more than it rewards any single hard session.

Control, mobility and coordination build quietly over weeks, and they carry into everything else you do: training at the Hub, sport on the weekend, and the ordinary business of lifting, carrying and getting off the floor.

The work also asks for your attention. Matching your breath to the movement, and keeping track of where your body is in space, takes up the whole hour. That is an hour away from everything else on your list.

A little clarity

Before
you begin.

Do I need Pilates experience?

No. The reformer is adjusted for each person, so beginners and experienced movers can work on the same equipment at a level that suits them. Tell Galina it is your first time when you book.

How is reformer different from mat Pilates?

Mat work uses your body weight. The reformer adds spring resistance and a moving carriage, which can make an exercise harder or give you more support, depending on how it is set up.

I have an injury. Can I still do it?

That depends on your injury and where you are in recovery. Speak with your treating practitioner first, then tell Galina before your session so she can set the session up appropriately. Suitability is individual.

Is it a group class or one-on-one?

Formats and times are confirmed through the booking page. Choose the reformer Pilates appointment and Galina will confirm the details with you.

What does it cost?

Fees are confirmed when you book with Galina. The booking page shows the current options and times.

Can I combine it with other Hub services?

Yes. Reformer Pilates sits alongside The Oxygen Hour, HOCATT™ and Supercell Ultimate. Talk with Nate on a Discovery Call about how to fit them into your week.

Where do sessions take place?

At the Supercell Hub, 353–355 Anzac Parade, Kingsford NSW 2032.
